IDESA counts on a powerful engineering office located in our main office in Gijón, from which our engineers work to provide added value to every single project. We know our clients trust IDESA to perform to the strictest designs and verifications, the majority being mechanical designs in accordance with world-wide Pressure Vessels Design Codes.

Other Designs

IDESA has wide and contrasted experience with the performance of structural design calculations in accordance with International Rules for wind and seismic considerations, principally ASCE-7, UBC, IBC, NBC, EN-1991-1-4, Eurocode 8 as well as the dynamic calculations due to wind (Vortex shedding) as well as combinations of both (seismic -dynamic) or local stress verification by means of WRC 537/297.

We provide complete engineering services to our Clients with optimized designs for transportation supports that are suitable for different loads and accelerations including the design of lashing points, lifting attachments or tools and rigging calculations.

We can not forget to also mention our capability to perform thermal designs of shell & tube heat exchangers by means of the HTRI design tool.

 

Design by Analysis ( FEA)

For some of the above mentioned designs, IDESA offer their performance and evaluation by means of finite element analysis (thermal, mechanical, elastic-plastic..)

The capability of finite element analysis in-house provides us with enough flexibility to be able to offer native design to conventional design methods that might not provide valid solutions such as: study of equipment supported on more than two points, special maneuvers…

Our ability to perform fatigue calculations through ASME VIII Div.2 Part.5, considering the effects of thermal fatigue or cyclic pressure / temperature loads, deserves special mention. We have performed fatigue calculations of Coke Drums and can offer the performance of elastic-plastic calculations of pressure equipment.

Design and Certification of Machines

Other fields in which Idesa has multiple references and experience are, the mechanical design of machines, tools and components, which allow us, always within the full compliance of the HSE system, to carry out manufacturing work according to optimal studies of manufacturing processes that will be in accordance with Code and Client Specifications.

Design Tools

For engineering development, IDESA, within its digitization process, is implementing a PLM (Product life cycle management) that will permit us to accelerate and optimize production operations as well as work faster and be more flexible.
